About Cusstionary
A multilingual dictionary of cuss words, swear words, and curses with meanings, etymology, usage examples, and pronunciation across 200+ languages.
What this is — and isn't
Cusstionary is a linguistic reference. It documents profanity as it exists in human languages, including words that may be offensive. Inclusion is not endorsement.
It is intended for adults — language students, linguists, translators, writers, travellers, and the curious.
How entries get here
The original dictionary was built from over a decade of community submissions. Entries have been cleaned and deduplicated. Definitions are then enriched with etymology, pronunciation, examples, and cultural context using a large language model, with automated safety checks.
What we don't accept
- Sexual content involving minors
- Non-linguistic harassment of named individuals
- Doxxing or personal information
- Content that violates the laws of the United States or the European Union
